Message from the Executive Director

Dear League members,

First of all, I would like to thank the Board of Directors for their confidence in me and for giving me the opportunity to serve as your Executive Director. I am proud and excited to become the sixth full-time executive director in the League’s 105-year history.

At the League, we feel strongly about our service to our members. We are committed to advocating for you, providing services that will help you, and being a resource to assist you. I hope that, over the next few months, you will see a recommitment to those core League values.

There are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the future of North Carolina’s municipalities – big, small and in between. If the last legislative session taught us anything, it is that we can accomplish more by working together. We saw better results because representatives from cities and towns statewide, regardless of size or location, worked together advocating for the benefit of the state. Everyone at the League appreciates the work that you all do as public servants.

If there is anything I, or the rest of the League staff can do, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to serve. I look forward to being your partner in municipal governance.

Warm regards,

Paul Meyer
