Immediate Action Needed
Today, please call U.S. Senator Kay Hagan to vote against mandated collective bargaining.
The US Senate will be voting on an amendment to include S3194 (Mandated Public Safety Employee Collective Bargaining) in HR4899 the Supplemental Appropriations Act which will probably be voted on before the Memorial Day break this Friday, May 28th. The legislation will force labor unions and collective bargaining on North Carolina municipalities and other state and local public safety agencies. The vote may take place as early as today!
Please call Senator Kay Hagan’s staff in both Washington, DC and Greensboro and ask them to ask Senator Hagan to vote against adding the mandatory collective bargaining bill to the supplemental funding bill. Even if you called previously, we NEED you to call her AGAIN TODAY!
Call both of these key members of Senator Hagan’s staff:
- Mike Harney, Legislative Director, at 202-224-6342 (Washington, DC)
- Melissa Midgett, State Director, at 336-333-5311 (Greensboro, NC)
If you cannot talk to them directly, ask to be transferred to their voice mailbox and leave them a voicemail message asking them to ask Senator Hagan to vote against adding the collective bargaining bill to the supplemental funding bill. Include your name and municipality, as well as your telephone number.
REMIND THEM: While campaigning for the US Senate in 2008, Senator Hagan promised that she would “never support a bill at the federal level that mandates states allow collective bargaining…”
We can convince Senator Hagan to vote against this bad labor union bill if enough opponents call…it is up to you!
