SOUTHERN CITY MEDIA KIT AND CONTRACT (PDF)

Few industries require such a wide variety of equipment, supplies and services as do municipal governments. Whether elected or appointed, in the big city or the small town, the officials you want to reach read Southern City. They are the people who make purchasing decisions about products and services for their municipalities.

Only Southern City reaches this target audience 12 times a year through more than 6,500 subscriptions (many of which are read by more than one person) to municipal officials in more than 530 cities, towns and villages. That represents virtually 100 percent coverage of the municipal marketplace in North Carolina.

How else could you reach 530 mayors, more than 3,000 governing board members, 508 clerks and more than 300 city and town managers and administrators?

Southern City
is the marketplace to reach top municipal officials and department directors in: public works & utilities; engineering; budget, finance & purchasing; law enforcement & public safety; parks & recreation; planning & community and economic development; water & sewage treatment; and personnel & human resources. Other recipients include county, state and federal decision makers; libraries, universities and professors; state organizations; other state municipal associations; print media and individual subscribers.

These are Southern City’s readers. They are an eager audience, willing to learn about your product or service. If you want to reach them, advertise in Southern City today.

More Readers for your Money

Southern City advertisers reach potential customers at a highly affordable rate. For example, a two-column (Option A) professional directory ad costs $400 a year with a circulation of 6,500, that’s only 6 cents per reader per year. Even a one-third-page display ad, run monthly for a year, costs less than 4 cents per reader, per insertion. Not only are these bargain prices, Southern City is also the only publication designed exclusively for the North Carolina municipal audience that accepts advertising.

Classified Ads

Career opportunity ads, legal notices and items for sale are available in our classified ad section. Career ads are from municipalities and private firms who would like to hire employees with local government experience. The charge for a classified ad is $1.50 per line with approximately 7 words per line. (A 200-word document for example would be about $42.) Advertisers are billed at the end of each month. We also post classifieds ads on the NCLM website. Call Matt Lail at (919) 715-3929 for further information or email careeropps@nclm.org.

Classified advertising is also available in League Letter, our monthly newsletter. The price is the same as it is in Southern City. Matt Lail handles these ads as well.
