League Recruiting for Governmental Affairs Associate

The League has initiated the recruitment process for its Governmental Affairs Associate. This position will serve as a key part of the Governmental Affairs Team and will be responsible for advocacy and lobbying on a range of policy issues, representing the interests of cities and towns with the General Assembly. Issues likely to be covered by the Governmental Affairs Associate include tax and finance, planning and land use, personnel, public safety, environment, and transportation issues.
Desired qualifications for the position include a Bachelor's degree in political science, natural science, public policy, or another relevant subject area. A graduate degree, three or more years experience in lobbying or related legislative experience, and demonstrated experience working with the North Carolina General Assembly and/or North Carolina state government is preferred.
