
Wellness and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Services
Are you looking to help your employees and their families while also saving money? The North Carolina League of Municipalities Risk Management Services provides Wellness Program and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) consultative services. These individualized Wellness and EAP consultative services can improve the quality of life and reduce health, accident, and workers' compensation costs.
League members that participate in either the Workers' Compensation or the Medical Insurance pools are also eligible to apply for grant funds that can be used to start, maintain, or enhance either or both a Wellness Program and EAP at work.
Wellness and EAP program services include: In-person or telephone consultation resulting in either formal or informal recommendations designed to promote the development and enhancement of high quality and effective Wellness and Employee Assistance Programs.
Individually tailored free consulting assistance in finding local Wellness and EAP vendors best suited to each member's needs.
Professional advice about local, regional, state and national resources targeted to best address timely health and EAP issues.
Assistance in designing or enhancing effective programs meeting the standards of the RMS Wellness and EAP Incentive and Ongoing Grant Programs.
Teaching evaluation techniques to help members measure results using data outcome measures to shape future cost-effective wellness and EAP efforts. Steering members to local, regional and national training vendors and resources to better educate employees about a wide variety of health issues.
Consulting assistance offered to Wellness and EAP coordinators regarding a variety of healthy work practices including cost-effective program planning and enhancement ideas, training opportunities, websites, creative activity resources and many others. In addition, a well established wellness coordinator email database allows for a quick distribution of timely resource materials.
Mailing of an annual health calendar to all designated MIT and NCIRMA wellness coordinators.
Assisting medical insureds to set up onsite group health screening programs accessing the Municipal Insurance Trust's $500 Wellness Benefit offered to all medical insureds and their covered dependents.
Mailing of annual MIT medical group Wellness Benefit and Emergency Room utilization reports.
Quarterly health newsletter, Wellthy and Wise, filled with health promotion tips mailed to all active medical insured's homes and to each workers' compensation insurance group member.
Quarterly retiree health newsletter, Wellthy and Wiser, filled with health tips geared to retirees over the age of 50.
Access to an up-to-date collection of more than 650 Wellness and EAP titles in the Wellness/EAP and Loss Control/Safety Lending Library -- available free of charge for loan to NCLM insurance pool members.
Funding may be available through the League's Risk Management Services Wellness Incentive or Wellness Ongoing Grant programs and through the EAP Incentive or EAP Ongoing Grant programs. If your municipality is in either the MIT Medical or NCIRMA Workers' Compensation Insurance pools, it is eligible for a free wellness or employee assistance program consultation.
