Grant proposals for Section 319 grants

Interested Parties:

Proposals are now being solicited for projects to address runoff pollution (also known as nonpoint source pollution or NPS) in North Carolina. Approximately $2.6 million of federal funds are available for purposes ranging from innovative demonstration projects, public outreach and education to on-the-ground water quality restoration. Funds are provided pursuant to Section 319(h) of the Clean Water Act.

Below is the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the FY 2009 grant cycle for the Clean Water Act Section 319(h) Grant, FY 2009 application form, and guidance for submitting applications. State and local governments, interstate agencies, and public and private nonprofit organizations are all eligible to apply. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2009. Please view the attached RFP and visit the Division of Water Quality's 319 grant program web site

( http://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/nps/Section_319_Grant_Program.htm ) for additional information.

Please help disseminate this RFP by forwarding it to any individuals or groups who may be interested in funding for nonpoint source pollution projects. For questions about the FY 2009 319 RFP or project eligibility for 319 grant funding, please contact Kim Nimmer at
